Peer Reviews
Today in second block, we spent time reading each other's This I Believe essays and filling out these Peer Review Guides for them. If you were absent or did not have your paper ready, please find three people to review your paper and fill out the guides for you and turn those in to me. Afterwards, 2nd block wrote and turned in to me Reflection Letters evaluating the class this semester.
In 3rd block, we took a practice version of our district final. We will use this final to review for the final on Wednesday.

Final Practice and Reading Test
Yesterday, we spent our time in the lab typing up our This I Believe essays. Those essays are due Monday along with one of the following pre-writing activities: the Brainstorming Questions handout or the Organizer handout. Here are the expectations for your paper.
In 3rd block we took our Performance Series test of reading to identify our reading level and compare our scores to our test from earlier in the semester.

This I Believe Reading and Brainstorming
We began the day by writing on two of several prompts, which can be found here. You should write a half page on two of the prompts, for a total of at least one page of writing. Then we took a look at several different This I Believe essays in order to have some models to base our own essays on. Using this Acting Reading handout as a guide, please read four essays of your choice from the This I Believe website.
Tomorrow you will be expected to begin writing your essay, so come to class with an idea of what you will write. Chose to complete either of the following: these brainstorming questions or this graphic organizer.

Parts of Speech and This I Believe Pre-Writing
Today in class we went over our grammar quizzes from the week before. Afterwards we requizzed over a portion of the quiz to help us review some of what we missed the first time around. It is not necessary to make this up. Afterwards we completed the Belief Consensus handout in groups and brainstormed some stories that support our group's beliefs. This cannot be made up either. If you were absent, you might visit this website to get an idea of the paper we will be writing this week.
